A bit about it

Frosted grasses on Freestyle Embroidery

The aim og this project is to show you how to be able to create a unique piece of freestyle embroidery through interpretation of a design source based on Lines.

This design is based on a photograph taken one very frosty morning. The subject of the image is composed of lots of radiating Lines. The thick stem has thinner "branches" radiating from the tip of it. These in turn have further branches radiating out from the tip on a smaller scale.

The lines are all of different lengths and radiate outwards at various degrees.

On closer examination, the stem and branches all covered in small spikes where the ice has formed.

The key element of the design is Line. When looking for inspiration for your own design, concentrate on looking at subjects based on Line, such as carvings, wood grains, tiles, etc…

Visit the Resources section where you will find the Photo Album for further inspiration based on Line or go to Design Development to see other ways to adapt images.
