Hydrangea Bag on Machine Embroidery

This is a really touchy-feely bag with a soft, folded petal centre bordered by space-dyed leaves, inspired by a walk through my village churchyard.

The petals are so soft to touch and make the bag very tactile indeed.  The construction is similar to (but not quite the same as) the Art Deco Bag but the end result is quite different.

Simple free-motion machine-stitching holds the leaves in place, yet allowing them to flutter and move.

This project was stitched throughout on a Brother QC-1000 sewing machine which made light work of the free-motion embroidery and construction of the final piece.
